This Privacy Policy explains how Sidque Scholarly Hub and the website sidque.com collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information.
Sidque Scholarly Hub is provided by us.

Privacy contact: sidque.sidque@gmail.com
This policy applies to:
- the Sidque Scholarly Hub Android application;
- Sidque services associated with the application;
- sidque.com and its related website pages.
1. Sidque Scholarly Hub
Sidque Scholarly Hub is a research and reference application that helps users access scholarly sources, organize research, create notes and research work, maintain a personal knowledge Vault, and optionally synchronize selected information using cloud services.
The core application can be used as a Guest Scholar without creating or signing in to an account.
Google Sign-In is optional and is used only when a user chooses features that require an authenticated Sidque account or cloud synchronization.
2. Information We May Collect
Depending on the features you use, Sidque Scholarly Hub may process the following categories of information.
Account information
If you choose Google Sign-In, we may receive or process:
- your name;
- email address;
- Google/Firebase account identifier;
- authentication-related information necessary to maintain your signed-in session.
We use this information for authentication, account management, cloud synchronization, security, and application functionality.
User-created content
When you choose features that save or synchronize research information, Sidque may process content you create, including:
- research notes;
- Vault entries;
- research work;
- custom-source names;
- source URLs;
- descriptions;
- titles;
- folders;
- tags;

Some content may remain only on your device. Content is transmitted off the device only when a feature requires an online service or when you choose cloud synchronization or another online action.
Search information
When you perform a search using an external search provider, the search terms or source information needed to perform that search may be transmitted to the selected provider.
This transmission occurs because you initiated the search. External search providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Device, advertising, and technical information
The application uses Google services including Google Mobile Ads. Depending on device settings, consent choices, region, and service operation, these services may process information such as:
- IP address;
- approximate location inferred from IP address;
- device or advertising identifiers;
- application interactions;
- advertising interactions;
- diagnostic information;
- device and application information;
- fraud-prevention, integrity, and security signals.
Sidque Scholarly Hub does not require precise GPS location for its normal research functionality.
3. Google Firebase Services
Sidque may use Google Firebase services for functions including:
- Google/Firebase Authentication;
- Firestore cloud data storage and synchronization;
- application integrity and abuse-prevention mechanisms.
When these services are used, Google may process technical information such as IP address, user agent information, application identifiers, Firebase installation identifiers, authentication identifiers, and data necessary to provide the requested Firebase service.
Cloud synchronization is optional where indicated in the application.
4. Advertising in the App
Sidque Scholarly Hub contains advertising and uses Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads.
Google and its advertising partners may collect, process, or receive information necessary to:
- display advertisements;
- select contextual or personalized advertisements where permitted;
- measure advertising performance;
- limit advertising frequency;
- detect fraud, abuse, and invalid traffic;
- provide aggregate reporting;
- comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
Advertising-related information may include IP addresses, approximate location, device or advertising identifiers, app interactions, diagnostics, and related technical information.
Advertising personalization depends on applicable law, device settings, availability, and the user’s consent choices.
5. Consent and Privacy Choices
Where required by applicable privacy regulations, Sidque uses Google’s consent-management technology, including the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP), to request and record advertising and privacy choices.
Users in applicable regions may be given choices relating to personalized advertising, non-personalized advertising, storage technologies, advertising vendors, and related data processing.
You may also be able to change privacy choices later through privacy controls made available within the application or through Google services.
6. Third-Party Websites and Research Sources
Sidque Scholarly Hub can open research sources and other third-party websites.
These websites are independent from Sidque. When you open a third-party website:
- that website may receive your IP address and browser/device information;
- it may use cookies or similar technologies;
- it may offer its own account or sign-in system;
- it may collect information according to its own privacy policy.
Any account offered by a third-party website is separate from your Sidque account.
Sidque does not control the privacy practices, content, cookies, authentication systems, or data collection practices of third-party websites.
Camera and microphone access
Some third-party web pages may request access to features such as the camera or microphone.
Such access requires applicable device or system permission. Sidque does not independently collect camera, video, or microphone content merely because a third-party page requests that permission.
7. How We Use Information

- synchronize selected cloud data;
- maintain Vault and research functionality;

We do not use Google Sign-In information merely to require users to create an account before accessing the application’s core guest functionality.
8. How Information Is Shared
Information may be transmitted to or processed by service providers and third parties when necessary to provide a feature.
Google may process information through services such as:
- Firebase Authentication;
- Firebase/Firestore;
- Google Mobile Ads / AdMob;

Search providers
When you intentionally submit a search, the search provider selected for that request may receive the search query and related network/device information required to deliver results.
Third-party websites
When you choose to open an external scholarly or web source, that site receives information normally transmitted when accessing a website.
We do not control how independent third parties process information after you choose to access their services.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed by Sidque.
Data transmitted between the application and supported cloud services is transmitted using encrypted network connections such as HTTPS/TLS where supported by those services.
No electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users should also protect access to their Google account and device.
10. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law, security requirements, dispute resolution, or legitimate service operation.
Examples include:
- account information may be retained while the Sidque account remains active;
- cloud-synchronized research and Vault content may remain until deleted by the user or through an applicable account-deletion request;
- information stored only on the user’s device remains subject to application and device storage controls;
- advertising and Firebase service providers may retain information according to their own retention policies;
- security or legal records may be retained where reasonably necessary to prevent abuse or comply with applicable obligations.
11. Account and Cloud-Data Deletion
Users who create or use an authenticated Sidque account may request deletion of their Sidque account and associated Sidque cloud data.
A deletion request can be initiated through the account/data deletion option available within Sidque Scholarly Hub or through:
https://sidque.com/delete-account/
Following a valid deletion request, we process deletion of the applicable Sidque account and associated cloud data under our control, subject only to information that must legitimately be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or similar obligations.
We do not treat disabling or freezing an account as a substitute for an account-deletion request.
Information stored only locally on a user’s device can also be managed using the application’s available controls and the device’s application-storage controls.
If reauthentication is required to protect an account before a destructive action, the user may be required to authenticate again.
Questions concerning deletion requests can be sent to:

14. Google AdSense and Website Advertising
sidque.com may display advertising through Google AdSense or other Google advertising services.
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve advertisements based on a user’s visit to sidque.com and/or other websites.
Google’s use of advertising technologies may allow Google and its partners to serve ads based on previous visits, subject to applicable consent requirements and advertising settings.
Google and advertising partners may use technologies including:

15. Personalized and Non-Personalized Advertising
Depending on applicable law and user choices, Google advertising may be personalized or non-personalized.
Personalized advertising may use information about previous activity, interests, visits, approximate location, or similar signals to select ads.

Sidque Scholarly Hub is intended for an adult audience aged 18 and over and is not directed to children.
We do not knowingly design the Sidque service to solicit personal information from children.
If we learn that information has been collected from a child in circumstances requiring deletion under applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to address it.

The current version will be published on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
Material changes may also be communicated through the application or website where appropriate.
